Urgent Plea For Assistance Campaign

My name is Nicci Rossouw, and I am reaching out to you with a plea that comes straight from the depths of our hearts. My husband and I find ourselves in a situation where we desperately need your support.

In our pursuit of hope and a better future, we are seeking to raise approximately R20,000 to enable my husband to travel to China. These funds will cover his flight tickets and provide a safety net for unforeseen emergencies. Allow me to share a glimpse of our journey.

The past few years have been exceptionally challenging for us. The challenges began during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to the loss of everything we had worked so hard to build. Over the course of three years, we have tried slowly but surely to piece our lives back together. Having spent four years as English teachers in China, we ventured to Vietnam where our son was born. However, circumstances forced us to use all of our savings just to survive in Vietnam, unable to return to South Africa due to the lockdown restrictions.

Since finally returning to South Africa in 2021, we have been diligently working to rebuild our lives. The economic difficulties in our country make this journey exceptionally difficult. Our monthly salary barely covers the essentials, and since 2022, my husband has been presented with a valuable opportunity to return to China for work. We believe this is the key to financial stability, sparing us from the perpetual struggle to make ends meet.

For almost three years, we have lived with family, unable to afford an apartment. The prospect of my husband returning to China is within our reach, but the final stretch eludes us. Despite securing his work permit, we now face the hurdle of financing his flight tickets. Our collective income goes toward our son's school fees, loan repayments, and covering debts accumulated during our trying times. Regrettably, our families are unable to assist further, having already been a tremendous support during our most challenging moments for which we will be forever grateful.

Your generosity can make a significant impact, helping us reach the last step of this journey. We have exhausted various options, from loan applications to seeking assistance from the school for which my husband will work, but now we turn to you, humbly requesting your support. We understand that times are tough for everyone, but any contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful impact on our family's future, and we will be forever grateful for your kindness.

The clock is ticking, and we have a 60-day timeframe in which my husband’s work permit will expire and all our efforts to secure this opportunity will be in vain, and our financial struggles will remain.
