Recording of an EP 3 songs Campaign
Mphozisi Qalekiso, a Franschhoek resident; musician (singer & songwriter) put Franschhoek firmly on the South African music map. He was nominated for Artist of the Year and Best Afro Pop outside the Province, in the Eastern Cape Music Awards. He won Best Afro Pop 2024 with a song he wrote entitled “S’yanqanda” meaning “we prevent”. The song has significant meaning for Mphozisi and he dedicates the song to all GBV victims.Mphozisi has a history of songwriting and musical performance and would love to build his musical brand in and around Franschhoek as a songwriter and singer. He’s an integral member of the Sinothando Arts & Culture Management who’s choir regularly performs for many of the wine estates here at Franschhoek.
He's raising funds towards an Album, which he needs to record during Easters if everything goes well with the fundraising. He is an inspiration to the youth and would love to help young artists at Franschhoek, he doesn't want his fame outside the Province as he wants to invest where he lives.
His beneficiary is Phumza Nkumeni, his fiancée; who also helps him as a personal assistant in his craft as an unsigned artist.
If I am able to get these funds, I will book a recording session in one of the big studios in Johannesburg, one song costs R5000 (package: rec, mixing, mastering & publish); I'll cover transportation and accommodation till I finish the recording.
