Livia Maree Short Bowl Syndrome Jou Campaign

Livia Maree was born at 29 weeks old weighing 1.53kg. At 32 weeks Livia was diagnosed with NEC, the doctor had to remove 85% of her small intestine and 50 % of her colon. Livia was in hospital for 206 days and has been admitted to hospital with sepsis on 3 occasions already. She is on total parental nutrition at home getting her tpn through a central line at night, the doctor has already told us that she will need tpn for a few years.

I have lost my job after 12 years because I need to stay at home with Lívia to look after her and a registered nurse is just to expensive. The funds needed is to have her medical aid be paid full for the whole year so that she can get all her Consumables that is needed at home for her tpn. If we can't pay her medical aid she will need to be admitted to a state hospital to get tpn and she will not be able to be home with us.

Livia has been such a fighter and we are so proud of this little girl she has gone through 12 operations and still have a smile.
