Help Tylor Pillay Reach His Dream Campaign
Tylor is a 17-year-old Grade 11 teenager from Phoenix, Durban. Tylor lived a normal life with the dreams and ambitions of any young man nearing the end of his schooling career; excited about the future. However, that all came crashing down after an innocent day of family fun at the beach turned into a day Tylor and his family wish never had happened. That fateful day, the 15th of December 2023, Tylor was hit by a wave that broke his vertebra (resulting in a C4 spinal cord injury) leaving Tylor paralysed.
This tragedy has left Tylor paralyzed from his neck to his feet. This means that he is unable to move and feel below his neck. Through intensive rehabilitation at Nurture iLembe Rehabilitation Centre, he has regained some movement in his arms, and he shows great potential of being able to use a motorised wheelchair as a form of mobility. However, this injury has resulted in Tylor being entirely dependent on others for his daily care. He requires high-end equipment for him to regain his modified independence, integrate back into his community and reach his dreams.
Tyler is a kind and ambitious young man who enjoys playing video games and spending time with his friends and family. He is motivated to further his studies online and be an active member of his community.
We are kindly requesting any amount of funds to assist with his equipment needs and further medical supplies once he goes home. Tylor will require a motorised wheelchair along with various other (costly) medical devices and supplies to assist him in navigating the world once discharged from rehabilitation.
We would greatly appreciate any assistance that can go towards helping him and his family.
