LeighcheFund Campaign

I'm leighche Lavigre, 20 years old. I graduated high school in 2021 with the hopes of studying at university but unfortunately I didn't get in at the university of my choice. So I ended up at home and while being at home I tutored kids to get an income and when applications opened again , I applied for the second time and got rejected again. At the time I didn't know what do to because I really wanted to study but things weren't working out for me. So knew day I was scrolling on Facebook and a job ad popped up , it was for the company YearBeyond , I immediately applied because I didn't want to be at home again. Within the next 2 weeks I got called in for an interview and the same day they informed me that I got the offer. So you must be thinking what YearBeyond is right , so basically it was an after school program where you have to assist academically challenged kids , helping them with English and Math. At the time I didn't really think much of it since I needed the money but as 2 months passed I realized that this is what I want to do , I want to be a teacher. And not just any teacher but one who makes a difference in atleast one child's life. And while continuing my journey on YearBeyond my passion grew stronger and stronger. Because knowing how much effort and time I put into helping them and helping them achieve things , really feels heartwarming. So I really hope that I get this bursary because I have a dream. And I want to achieve it.
