Robyn Hunter LLB Degree Support Campaign
I’m Robyn Hunter, I am supposed to be in my 2nd year of the 3 year Postgraduate LLB degree programme however, due to outstanding fees of last year. Stellenbosch University will not allow me to register for 2024. In this moment. I feel many things, I feel angry, frustrated and beyond heartbroken.
I feel angry because it seems a bit unfair that I am being prohibited from registering to continue studying, I am frustrated because I have tried and asked for help but nothing as of yet. I am heartbroken because I know that I would have worked hard this year and God willing graduate next year.
I have seen my parents break their backs to try to help me, be it loans or asking people but no success. What hurts more is that, I was given a bursary for this year, which I cannot use. People always talking about those who want to study but can't because of finances and I never thought I would be one of them, but here I am with the same desperation and desire to simply give myself and my family a better life but unable to do so because of funding.
On this journey, I have come across many people that were able to help but simply did not want to and after experiencing the kind of hurt, you go through when you want to do something great like studying.
I told myself. I would not think twice before helping someone if I had the resources to do so. Everyone deserves to study, yes there are ways to do so, there is bursaries, loans etc. but it’s really not always that easy to get one.
I am asking for any help that will go towards the Universities outstanding amount to assist me to continue with my 2nd year of university. The funds will go directly to the school account.
Thank you for all the support
Robyn Hunter
