Kathleen Voysey Clinic Trust
The Kathleen Voysey Clinic provides free primary health services to impoverished, unemployed, unsheltered, and aged individuals who cannot afford healthcare. The clinic operates one morning per week, attending to an average of 70 patients during that time, totalling around 280 patients per month or approximately 3000 annually.
Our patient numbers are increasing, with an average of 20 new patients each month. To sustain its operations, the clinic relies solely on donations to purchase medicine and medical supplies from wholesalers.
Our medical staff includes 3 doctors, 3 nursing sisters, and 3 pharmacists, all retired volunteers. We also have a dedicated wound dresser. Additionally, we have 5 paid staff, 99 percent BEE compliant, and several other volunteers, bringing the total staff complement each week to 17.
The clinic's ethos is to treat everyone with dignity. Therefore, we also secure donations of soap to promote hygiene and uphold dignity. Established in 1998, the clinic is a registered health organization and BPO.
