Help Tanya Get to University Campaign

My name is Tanya Madonsela, I’ve just turned 18 years old and got my Bachelors Pass with 6 A’s. I have lived my whole life with my grandmother, who is a domestic worker on a farm in Greytown. I have been lucky enough to live on the farm where I got a lift to school every morning and evening. I have not missed a single day of school and have always made it my mission to study hard enough to get into university.

I have managed to be accepted at the University of Johannesburg and the University of Stellenbosche for a Bachelor in Nursing and a Bachelor of Civil Engineering.

It’s always been by lifelong dream to become a Civil Engineer. I took Physical Sciences, Accounting and Biology at school and always achieve awards throughout my highschool career.

But I need your help. My mom has recently lost her job, and my gran isn’t able to financially support my dreams of going to university, even though she is so proud of all the effort I have put in to my academics. I need to raise R150,000 to cover the costs of my tuition and accommodation to be able to follow my dream. I have applied for many bursaries, but I haven’t heard anything back and I would not like to let the opportunity pass me by because of finances.
