Cape Epic 2024 I love Boobies Campaign

Founded in 2017, the charity’s objective is to provide free breast cancer screenings to
women living in underserved communities. The program has been executed in farms, pack
houses, and industrial areas predominantly in the Western Cape for the past 7 years, many
of these screening outreaches are at the farms that the race traverses. 8200 Women have
been screened to date.
Within the ILoveBoobies target communities (at least), women represent the cornerstone of
a family's overall physical and spiritual health and play a pivotal role in ensuring the
endurance and stability of the societal fabric. They are the mothers, grandmothers,
daughters, and sisters of everyone. 1 in 8 women anywhere in the world will get breast
cancer. The survival rate in South Africa is just 40% largely due to late detection.
Ensuring they have access to quality care will improve health for themselves, their children,
their families, and the community. Women are placed in a better position to improve the
condition of everything important to them. They can maximize their excellence.
Absa Cape Epic 2024:
Women’s cycling and upliftment are a major focus of the Absa Cape Epic. Absa have
renewed their contract with Epic until 2027 and have committed to having 20 women's
teams in the 2024 event. As part of Absa’s strategic ambition to be an active force for good
in everything it does, Absa has actively promoted women's participation in the Absa Cape
Epic through its #SheUntamed initiative since 2019. The number of women participating in
the race, one of the world’s toughest, has increased from 36 in 2019 to 146 in 2023, in
large part due to Absa’s purposeful efforts, alongside Cape Epic.
Opportunity to get onboard:
ILoveBoobies as an official charity and benefitting women 100% from underserved
communities will receive massive media exposure. Our screening team will be servicing the
farms along the route during the event. We will have marketing activations to the riders,
corporates and supporters attending the race both in the Race Village and at the
Waterpoints. We anticipate major local and international coverage during the event from
17-24 March 2024.
What will it cost per team:
The charity entry fee is R150 000, this covers the entry fee and 150 screenings per team.
ILoveBoobies is a registered PBO and will issue S18A Tax Donations Certificates for all
donations.
Over and above this the teams need branded cycling gear for on and off the bike, race
nutrition, physiotherapy, bike maintenance (usually a total rebuild prior to the race due to
wear and tear from training), and accommodation. We estimate an additional R50000 per
team.
Each team will be raising funds via Givengain, the official fundraising portal. None of the
team members will directly financially benefit from any of the funds raised.
Opportunity:
Sponsors will be able to promote their brand and leverage exposure to many stakeholders
and audiences around South Africa and abroad whilst assisting with activating and
promoting the ILoveBoobies screening program through its networks. As ILoveBoobies is
an NPC, that has an 18A exemption and is certified as a level 2 BBBEE service provider,
sponsors can make use of all aspects associated with BBBEE points and tax exemptions.
Sponsorship levels:
Our goal is to get the Ladies representing, raising awareness and racing the Absa Cape
Epic 2024, whatever that takes, it may be exclusive naming rights per team or it may be
many brands collaborating and making it happen. Every donation will make a meaningful
impact.
