World Champs Birmingham 2023 Campaign

 

My name is Helene Bezuidenhout, from Plettenberg Bay in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.

 

My daughter Leolin Petersen has been selected to represent Gymnastics South Africa at the World Championship and the World Age Group competitions hosted in Birmingham, United Kingdom in November this year.   Leolin will compete in Trampoline in the FIG Trampoline World Championship, this will be the first time that Leolin participate as a senior at the young age of 17!   

 

The competition will be from 9 - 12 November 2023,  a week after this competition Leolin will participate in the FIG Trampoline World Age Group competition.   This tournament wil take place from 16 - 19 November 2023.

 

Leolin started gymnastics at the young age of 3.  Leolin showed a natural aptitude for gymnastics and at age 5 she was awarded SWD colours in gymastics, at age 7 she obtained Western Province colours.  Because Leolin showed so much promise in gymnastics and there being no club in Plettenberg Bay, we deciced to send her to boarding school in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.

 

To make it possible for Leolin to attend both events in Birmingham, we need to raise  R80 0000.   This funds will cover flights, accomodation, transport, meals, competition entry fees, travel insurance and her gymnastic kit (tracksuit, leotard, training gear and other required clothing).

 

We will greatly appreciate any donation to make this possible for Leolin.
