Help bring Ziggy Home Campaign

Three weeks ago our handsome boy, Ziggy, was hit by a car near his home in Tamboerskloof. He had a severe injury to his back leg (broken in two places) but thankfully was taken to a Vet by a friendly neighbour in time to treat the wound. We rushed him to Vetscape Animal Hospital (https://www.vetscape.co.za/) in Paarl, where the incredible team of surgeons were able to reconnect his bones and give him a chance at a normal life again. Unfortunately the impact of the accident, and the trauma of the injuries caused Ziggy to develop multiple post-op complications. Ziggy has been fighting to stay with us since. He had trouble breathing due to fluid on his lungs, was severely anaemic, and his liver enzymes were critically high. He has been under close observation for the past two weeks and the team at the hospital have been doing everything they can to help Ziggy recover. Unfortunately a decision had to be made last week to amputate his leg to give him the best chance of survival. Although not out of the woods yet, Ziggy has been going from strength to strength since the amputation and has managed to slowly get his vitals stable. We believe with a little more time and rest, Ziggy will be out of the hospital and home soon to start his new life with three legs. Ziggy is so special to so many people and knows more people in our neighborhood than we do. The team at Vetscape are world class and we cannot be more grateful for how they have cared for him. We would like to raise funds, not only to cover the bill, but to show our immense appreciation to the doctors and nurses that have had a hand in getting Ziggy to where he is now.
