Funding for Education Studies

Hi, I am Chané Poole from Cape Town in need of support to fund my registration fee at North-West University (Bachelor of 

Education in Senior Phase and Further Education and Training Phase: Teaching with Business Studies for Education) for the academic year 2024.

 

It has always been a dream and goal of mine to become an Educator but unfortunately up until now my circumstances have not allowed me to do so. Ever since matriculating in 2016, I have been employed full-time contributing to my household, as my mom raised myself and 3 siblings on her own, leaving us with no option other than to make a living ourselves. Despite difficulties I always had a strong passion and determination to further my education and to lead our household by example through graduating and making a difference in our lives and the lives of others. 

 

In 2019 I was accepted at UNISA for the Higher Certificate in Education (Distance Learning) and passed my first year with a distinction in Child and Adolescent Development. Unfortunately, my second year in 2020 fell through when I could no longer afford the studies. This has been a major setback but still I am hungry to make my dream a reality. 

 

I am extremely grateful and ecstatic that I have been accepted at North West University for their 

undergraduate Programme. Not only do I have the opportunity to become an Educator and fulfill my dream but it also opens the door for me to start my own non-profit organization to help 

struggling youth in my community on their paths to being successful. 

 

North-West University requires me to pay the full registration amount of R11900 by 10th February 2024. Currently I am awaiting the outcome of my  NSFAS application. Unfortunately NSFAS applications only opened in late November 2023, for which I will only get an outcome after my registration period. This puts me in a stressful situation where I might not be able to pursue my studies if I cannot pay my full registration fee as communicated by North-West University. 

 

I have been unemployed since July 2023 battling to find a job and only being supported by my mom who is a pensioner, I cannot emphasise enough how much of a blessing the support towards my campaign will be.
