Help Save Educare House Campaign
I'm Avril Everts, Grade R Teacher and Principal of Educare House Preschool and Aftercare. Established in 1986, Educare House creates a safe, nurturing, loving, caring, supportive and warm educational environment where children continue to flourish.Educare House is situated in the leafy green suburb of Kirstenhof which is between Lakeside, Tokai and Bergvliet and is a mere 20 minute drive from Cape Town’s CBD making the school easily accessible for parents living in these areas. We are fully registered with the Western Cape Education Department. Our school hours are from 7am till 6pm and we are open during school holidays, huge bonus for working parents. We accept children from 4 months old up to 6 years old and we offer Aftercare for Primary School children from Grade R to Grade 7. Please check out our website for more info: www.educarehouse.co.zaSince the outbreak of Covid 19, we have been struggling financially to keep our doors open. The high rental, staff salaries and increased running costs have pushed us ever closer to the brink of closing down. This would mean that about 50 families would have no place to send their children and leave 14 Staff members without a job and source of income. The sad part would be that after nealy 40 years Educare House will no longer be able to offer this valuable service to the community of Kirstenhof and surrounding areas.
Myself and the staff have made great sacrifices in terms of salary cuts to try and reduce costs, but it's still not enough to completely eliminate the shortfall. You won't find a more dedicated, passionate or hard working group of people.

My kids absolutely love Educarehouse preschool. The teachers are amazing at what they do and so nuturing and caring to the kids. My kids really enjoy all the daily activities at preschool. Educarehouse makes learning fun. Well done Educarehouse!
A wonderful ECD experience for both children and parents. The communication is great between teacher and parents, most importantly our children are happy. Tough times really bring out the true character of individuals and institutions! We cannot begin to express how grateful we are for your continued fight and efforts to keep the school open and compliant during this pandemic! You guys really take education seriously and we see the progress that you have made with our children. The staff are all incredible and passionate people, you experience this first hand as you walk through the playground and hear the likes of a cheerful Alfie, greeting each and every child by name. I highly recommend Educare House to any parent looking for a good pre-school experience in the area.
We love how loving and nurturing the environment and the staff are and how they are always willing to go the extra mile to make sure our little ones are happy and safe.
