FUNDING MY FINAL YEAR Campaign

Good day,

I hope you are well.

I would like to express my gratitude for taking the time to read this.

I am Ashleigh Son, a 22-year-old student and Au pair. I am hardworking and have a passion for accounting. My dream is to become a Chartered Accountant, and I have been diligently working towards making this dream a reality.

I was privileged enough to complete my high school education at Jeppe High School for Girls, where I served as a Councillor, secretary of Nerine, and the 1st Team Volleyball vice captain.

I went on to study Bcom Accounting at the University of Johannesburg and was fortunate enough to have my university fees covered by NSFAS. I completed my degree in 2022 and proceeded to study my BCTA at the University of Johannesburg, where my studies were covered by the accounting firm I worked for.

I have been working concurrently with my studies since high school, initially starting with scribing and pet sitting. In my second year of varsity, I began my articles along side my studies. Unfortunately, during my BCTA, the pressure was too much, and I had to choose between my job and passing. I then became an Au pair to create a more flexible schedule for myself. With this decision, I lost funding for my CTA year, which would be my final year of university.

I have been accepted at IAS, the Institute of Accounting Science, to complete my final year of university and be able to write my board exams for SAICA.

While my parents have been extremely supportive and helpful during my journey, I would need to take out a student loan to complete my final year. My brother is also beginning university this year, and I am trying to relieve the financial pressure off my parents, preventing them from having to take out two full student loans as NSFAS has cut down on funding and rejected my brother's application.

I am reaching out for any possible donations, which will be paid directly to IAS to reduce the amount of the loan I would need to take out. If I am fortunate enough, it may even help me pay off my fees completely. I understand that not everyone may be able to contribute, so if you are unable, I kindly ask you to share my BackaBuddy campaign to reach people who may be able to.

Please allow me to turn my dreams into reality, not only to better myself for the future but also to help support my family. I am so close to the finish line and this truly is my last step.

The funding I have asked for is 84 500 which does not cover textbook it is increased slightly to cover the amount back n buddy takes and on the most expensive payment plan on the event I can't pay on one lump sum. Any addition money which I do not need will be donated to another student in need.
