Everybody Loves Ray Campaign

Ray Kitching is a 53 year old man living in Cape Town, South Africa. He has lived with cerebral palsy for his entire life, and as a result, has lived at Eric Miles Cheshire Homes since he was 19. Cheshire Homes is an organisation that provides assisted living to those with physical disabilities.

Our parents have known Ray for well over 30 years. In this time, they have known him to be an extraordinary human. He has taught us all a lesson in perseverance and living life to the fullest. Despite being wheelchair-bound, he has lived a very full life, attending cricket games, going on 4x4 drives and even reaching the top of Table Mountain! 

We also know Ray for his great sense of humour. He is forever cracking jokes, sharing memes and maintaining an active presence on social media.

However, above all, we know Ray for his kind heart. He is an active member of our Milnerton Catholic Church community, where he takes a keen and loving interest in the lives and families of all he meets. Aside from this, he is known for his fundraising efforts for others, often being seen outside the Milnerton KwikSpar to raise money for Cheshire Homes. 

Ray receives a monthly SASSA grant of R1900, which is not sufficient to cover his rent of R15000 per month. This rent includes food, physical care and boarding. In addition to this, Ray has a large outstanding balance which we would like to help him pay off.

We would like to raise enough money to cover his debt and cover a year of rent. Anyone, whether they be individuals or businesses, can contribute to this cause and help us support Ray. Both once-off donations and monthly/annual contributions would do a world of good for him. He is also willing to bear the logo on his wheelchair of any company that wishes to sponsor him.
