Personal message

Can you remember a time when you overcame something you thought was impossible? 

Overcoming my fear of open water swimming has been a journey of perseverance. I only learnt to swim properly 12 months ago. And now I’m taking on Ironman with a 3.8km swim. In addition, as a cancer survivor, I’ve learnt the value of community and helping each other get through life’s challenges. 

This is why I wanted to use the challenge of taking on my first full Ironman to put a smile on a child’s face and why I wanted to invite you to be part of the journey by donating.

I’m kicking it off by donating R13/$1 per mile of IRONMAN but please give any amount as every donation will make a difference. 

Smile Foundation together with the country’s academic hospitals work to put the smile back onto children’s faces with corrective facial reconstructive surgery and treatments. Find out more at smilefoundationsa.org
