Dear all, l hope you are doing well. It is with heavy heart l write this to you all.
My name is Wilcox Muchineripi, a passionate to be a Civil Engineer from Zimbabwe , enrolled at the University of Cape Town. I came to Cape town in 2020, with a dream to become a civil engineer to solve problems we are encoutering in our present world.
ln 2020 doing my first year, my father was my main sponsor for tuition fees and living expenses.
Things took a turn when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, my father whom l heavily depended on, salaries where cut, as he begin to struggle to pay up for my fees and also he is the main breadwinner back home and also have to cater for my other 2 siblings education and hence in my second and third year could not pay all the fees.
I could not register for the 2023 academic year for my 4th year because of the outstanding fees and l had to take a break for the academic year and l started working trying to raise the funds to make ends meet.
Unfortunately how hard l have tried l could not meet the required amount as l have raised about 10% of the amount. Tried to look up for bursaries but to no avail as there are a few for international students.
I am sincerely appealing to you all to any amount of support to help me persue my dreams, and also by supporting my journey in Civil Engineering, you're not just investing in my education or career; you're investing in the positive impact we can make together. Your contribution is a step towards creating safer, more sustainable spaces that enhance the quality of life for everyone.
