Personal message
My dad, Voyager McLean (64), underwent a gastrointestinal scope on November 28, 2023, after experiencing excruciating agony that had been hindering his ability to eat properly for months.
They discovered several ulcers that were bleeding during the scope, which also resulted in some blood loss for him.
The treatment was started right away. He seemed to feel somewhat better, so on January 30, 2024, we booked a follow-up scope.
Even though the ulcers have healed satisfactorily, the Duodenum—the stomach's exit—has narrowed as a result of scar tissue growing where the ulcers once were and there is still some blood loss as his blood count is not picking up.
Because of this, the doctor was unable to get the camera through the Duodenum (exit of the stomach). As a result, the food that enters his stomach is not passing through the body as it ought to, sitting there and ultimately turning into poison and the whereabouts of the blood loss could not be established.
In order to restore the normal function of his intestines, they must operate as quickly as possible to remove the scar tissue in the stomach and insert a balloon / stent to open the Duodenum again.
They lack access to healthcare services, and the state hospital waiting list is too lengthy. This procedure has to be completed as soon as possible.
As a family, we humbly seek your aid, which will be immensely valued.
