I'm Vizo Mdwara, reaching out with a sincere request for support in my educational journey. I began my B.Sc in Computer Science online from Cape Town, South Africa, in October 2023 with a 75% scholarship. However, financial constraints persist, especially with my mom as the sole breadwinner.

Your generosity is crucial for me to complete my current online studies and final year of my studies on-campus in Germany in 2026. The funds raised will cover remaining fees for my online and on campus studies, including accommodation, living expenses, and other essential needs at the International University of Applied Sciences in Bad Honnef, Germany.

The decision to study abroad arises from the challenges I faced in pursuing higher education within South Africa. I applied to institutions locally, but unfortunately, my study offers were withdrawn. This setback resulted from my mom not qualifying for the National Student Financial Aid Scheme of South Africa (NSFAS) and falling under the "missing middle" category. She was unable to meet the financial demands, making it challenging for me to continue my studies in the country.

Recognizing that not everyone can contribute financially, your prayers, thoughts, and support are equally cherished. Your encouragement will be a source of strength throughout this journey.

Breakdown of the amount: 

Please note that these costs (#4,  #5, #6, #8) are based on information from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and are in accordance with the requirements for a German Student Visa.

1. Online Study Fees (February 2024 - March 2026):

• Monthly Fee: R3 065
• Total: R3 065 x 26 months = R79 690

2. On-Campus Study Fees (April 2026 - October 2026):

• Monthly Fee: R12 100
• Total: R12 100 x 7 months = R84 700

3. On-Campus Registration Fees:

• Total: R32 000

4. Accommodation in Germany (April 2026 - October 2026):

• Monthly Rent: R10 000
• Total: R10 000 x 7 months = R70 000

5. Living Costs (April 2026 - October 2026):

• Monthly Expenses: R15 600
• Total: R15 600 x 7 months = R109 200

6. Health Insurance (March 2026 - October 2026):

• Monthly Premium: R2 600
• Total: R2 600 x 8 months = R20 800

7. Return Flight Ticket to Frankfurt, Germany:

• R15 000

8. German Student Visa:

•  R2 000

9. Emergency/Safety Amount in case anything changes or costs increase in Germany (10% of Total Costs): 

10% of (R79 690 + R84 700 + R32 000 + R70 000 + R109 200 + R20 800 + R15 000 + R2 000) = R41 739

10. Backabuddy VAT (7%):

7% of (R79 690 + R84 700 + R32 000 + R70 000 + R109 200 + R20 800 + R15 000 + R2 000 + R41 739) = R30 071.49 (rounded to R30 071)

Total Amount Including Emergency/Safety Amount and VAT:

R413 390 (Total Before Emergency/Safety Amount and VAT) + R41 739 (Emergency/Safety Amount) + R30 071 (Backabuddy VAT) = R485 200.
