The Munga is not your average MTB event. It's a crazy, single stage mountain bike race across some of the toughest terrain south of the equator. A 1000km rush from Bloemfontein to Wellington in the middle of the South African summer.

It is not called the toughest race on earth for nothing.

Can a MTB race change your life? Most definitely - and not only mine but children's lives too.

I am racing to put a smile on the faces of children in need of plastic & reconstructive surgery. Partner with me and the Smile Foundation and let's change lives!

Why I support the Smile Foundation and what it means to me:

Life is tough enough when you a little different, when you are teased because your ears might be a little bigger than they should, you have freckles, your skin is a different colour or you have pimples, but in time these things make us who we are today. We grow our hair to cover our ears, our freckles fade as we get older, we realise that skin colour is nothing but a colour and does not depict who we are, our pimples clear with time.

But being born with a deformity that you can do nothing about, you cannot afford to correct it and you must live with it everyday, live with people looking at you differently, treating you differently and acting different around you, like I said life is tough why should children have to be burdened with a deformity to make it even tougher.

The Smile Foundation gives these children the opportunity to live a normal life, it gives them the surgical care that they deserve. The Smile Foundation allows for comprehensive health care and a chance for greater well-being.

So the question is how can you not support the Smile Foundation?

Smile Foundation is a non-profit organization that brings people together for the purpose of providing expert surgical intervention, creating greater social involvement and enabling sensible corporate social investment – to make a difference in the lives of children with facial anomalies.

We offer holistic care to transform the lives of these children who are threatened with rejection by society.

The Smile Foundation is about meaningfully connecting people to bring about new opportunities, new futures, with the result being – new lives.
