Good day to you, I'm writing to you in the hope that you might be able to help.
My name is Tracey and for the last 22 years I have been a Chaplain in the community assisting families with trauma ranging from natural deaths to armed robberies as well as the 7 years that I was a trauma counselor at a hospital assisting families with trauma.
I have now found myself in a situation where I need some help as I have been diagnosed with a surgical incisional hernia on the site of a kidney operation that I had several years ago but unfortunately at the present moment I am not on a medical aid as I volunteer my services to those in need, I have also been diagnosed with tumors on my adrenal glands as well as a femoral hernia and a thickening of the wall of my bladder and scheduled for surgery at jhb Gen where I was diagnosed. I have now been on the waiting list for over two years while my symptoms have got increasingly worse.
I have tried desperately over the last three years to find help and been to every government hospital but was told I need a specialized urologist and would need to go to jhb general hospital for help which I did and was refused help as I do not live in the area.
Eventually I phoned the deputy minister of health who managed to get me a appointment after weeks of being pushed from pillar to post and tests including a CT scan I was told I need to be admitted immediately but there was no beds available and I was put on the waiting list a couple of days later there was a fire at the hospital and it was shut down for months when it reopened I went back only to find my name was not on the waiting list and they would have to put my name back on the list that was now over two years ago and to this day I have not heard anything from the hospital and my symptoms have worsened to the extent that the pain is going down my leg and affecting my mobility.
I was hoping and praying that you might see it in your heart to help me to pay for the surgery in a private hospital that would help me to alleviate my pain and suffering as at the moment I'm really sick and in terrible pain and unable to walk as the pain radiates down my leg. so that I can get back to helping others in need and if the tumors are cancerous to alleviate the spreading of it to my kidneys.
I also have four incurable diseases namely lupus, Rheumatoid arthritis, Raynauds disease and Fibromyalgia which I have had for many years.
I look forward to hearing from you and thank you for taking the time to read my email.
Kind regards
Tracey
