A while back, I inherited the joy of my life, Sweetpea, from my grandmother, who passed away last year. Over the weekend, Sweetpea suffered a severe injury to her hind leg, leaving the bone exposed with insufficient skin for stitching. In a moment of urgency, I rushed her to an after-hours emergency vet for immediate care, resulting in a substantial vet bill. There's also a looming possibility of a second surgery.
