Cape Town Cycle Tour will take place on the 12th of March 2023
I’m grateful to be taking part in the ride for a child as this is a cause close to my heart because of my brother. I will be riding for him as well as for Seth, Kyle, and Kiara. I am very excited to ride for a child and contribute to making a difference.
For the Cape Town Cycle Tour, I have three buddies that I am riding for. Kiara, Kyle and Seth are siblings who came to Home of Hope after being abused and neglected by their biological family. Kiara, Kyle and Seth all suffer from Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder due to prenatal alcohol exposure.
Each child has specific needs, but Home of Hope has done its best to keep this sibling unit together no matter the cost. Seth is the youngest of the siblings and has the most profound intellectual disability, which makes his Care extremely difficult and expensive.
With consistent support and Care, the siblings have achieved milestones that no one thought were possible. For Home of Hope to continue doing their work and helping Kiara, Kyle and Seth, I aim to raise R12 000.00 towards the immediate Care and needs of these three children.

Home of Hope was started in 2005, and we are an NPO that cares for abandoned and abused children and children with Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD – permanent brain damage caused by pre-natal exposure to alcohol). We are a registered place of safety and we have 19 children in our long term community based foster care.
The organisation also caters for the special educational needs of children suffering from FAS (Foetal Alcohol Syndrome) and neurological challenges, in our Amathemba Learning Centre. There are currently 37 children at our Amathemba Learning Centre.
