Personal message

On the 18th of July, we will be celebrating Mandela Day at the Teddy Bear Foundation.

Teddy Bear Foundation is appealing to you to honor Nelson Mandela’s 67 years of public service and make a difference to the lives of our children. “Children are the rock on which our future will be built, our greatest asset as a nation. They will be the leaders of our country, the creators of our national wealth, those who care for and protect our people”. (Nelson Mandela)

This Mandela Day, help the Teddy Bear Foundation by donating R67.00 (or multiples of R67!) which will be used to transport our vulnerable children in order for them to access our free services.

Many of the children we see are exposed to gender based violence within their families and they experience the pain and suffering which they may carry with them for the rest of their lives. We have realised that their parents or guardians struggle to pay for transport thus preventing these children from reaching us. Help us to transport 670 or more children and their families

The Teddy Bear Clinic for Abused Children (TTBC) originated in 1986 in response to an urgent need for medical examinations for sexually abused children. From there it has grown into a fully fledged service for abused children which includes: Forensic medical examinations, forensic assessments, counseling, psychological testing and more recently a diversion programme for youth sexual offenders. As an NGO, our concern is not only to support children and families affected by abuse but also to promote: “CHILD ABUSE NO MORE”.
