Personal message

I have decided to leap out of my comfort zone and I am doing this by embarking on a fundraising journey by climbing to Base Camp Everest in the Great Himalayas. Having spent a significant time with Cami and the Avela Foundation, I have seen the direct positive effects Avela has on children with burn injuries in South Africa. We are so lucky and blessed to be able to live a life without pain and I will climb mountains to raise funds so that we can help these children live happier lives with purpose and less pain.

The Avela Foundation will use the proceeds raised, to provide burn survivors with adequate support on their road to recovery and to refurbish the burn unit at the Kimberly hospital. All donations are tax deductible. An 18 A receipt will be issued for all donations; as Avela has a PBO status.

This journey will be a personal test of discipline in terms of my physical fitness and allowing myself to venture beyond my boundaries into a snow-swept land of quiet, mental strength and physical discipline.

I have already paid to get to Nepal, I am only asking for your support by donating any amount you can to this cause. 100% of your donation will go directly to The Avela Foundation.

Avela Foundation

The Avela Foundation is dedicated to providing healthcare and emotional healing to South African children that have survive burn injuries. Some of these children have disfiguring scars and we know that with the right support they will be able to achieve the impossible.
