Personal message

Rare Diseases South Africa is a new but growing charity that helps support patients with rare diseases, both financially and many other supportive ways. It also grows awareness of the many different rare diseases that mostly children suffer. It is very humbling when one is blessed with healthy children, yet these children, challenged by their diseases and their limitations, are happy little fighters. I am so happy to be part of swim4sadie to raise funds for this worthy charity. One done, second event coming up for swim4sadie. If you feel that you can donate towards the Midmar Mile charity event on 7 February that is linked to Rare Diseases South Africa, please  go to the link below.

Rare Diseases South Africa

Charity Default Logo

Rare Diseases South Africa, formerly the Rare Disease Society of South Africa, was founded in 2013 by Kelly du Plessis. Founded out of personal need after the diagnosis of Kelly’ son, it quickly became evident that there was a lack of support and awareness on rare diseases in South Africa.
