Hi everyone! My name is Rethabile Tala and I am a sports and exercise student that plays hockey, tag rugby and contact rugby. In 2023, I was part of the tag rugby mixed open team that took part in the Tag Rugby World Cup in Limerick, Ireland. This was the first mixed open team to be sent to a world cup and attained 5th position, winning the plate.
I was recently chosen to be part of the tag rugby SA mixed open team again, which will be travelling to the UK in July 2024, to take part in a tag rugby tournament against Great Britain and other neighbouring countries. As tag rugby is still a growing sport in South Africa, the tour is self-funded, meaning players must pay for their own tour costs.
As someone who plays various sporting codes, there are are tours, competitions and equipment which requires exorbitant finances, which stretches my parents financial capability. I would really appreciate everyone’s financial help or sponsor, no matter how little the donation is.
The tour will cost around R35 000.00 and most of it would be to cover the flight fees. If I could get enough to cover those fees it would be gratefully appropriated.
As someone who is passionate about sports, I would really appreciate your help to get me to this tour and to be able to grow tag rugby in South Africa, especially women tag Rugby.
Be blessed, Thank you.

Tag Rugby Tour Campaign

Hi everyone! I'm Rethabile Tala, a sports and exercise student excelling in hockey, tag rugby, and contact rugby, seeking support to fund my participation in the Tag Rugby SA mixed open team's tour to the UK in July, as the self-funded trip poses a financial burden, especially for flight fees amounting to around R35,000.
