Hello everyone,

My name is Sonya, and I'm from Kuruman in the Northern Cape.

I'm here to ask for help for my mother, Suzette Burger, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in December. She underwent a mastectomy at Gariep Hospital in Kimberly three weeks ago and will soon need chemotherapy once she's healed. Unfortunately, she doesn't have medical aid, and we are desperately trying to gather funds for her upcoming treatment at Universitas Hospital in Bloemfontein, which is a few hours away.

This assistance would mean so much to us as we simply want to ensure she receives the treatment she needs. Her grandchildren, who adore her, are still very young, and we can't bear the thought of losing her. Financially, it's difficult for us to cover all the costs involved, so I'm reaching out for help.

Any funds raised will be used solely for my mother's medical expenses, including treatments and travel expenses from Kuruman to Bloemfontein. We have upcoming appointments, including one this week to have draining tubes removed if drainage is under 20ml, and to discuss the next steps and dates for chemo.

Your support during this challenging time would be greatly appreciated as we navigate this journey with my mom.
