Good day, I hereby write with a heavy heart as the challenges faced by University students continues to pile up . Especially with regards to funding issues .
University students have not yet received their allowances from NSFAS, this remains a huge setback as some of these particular students depend on the allowance money in order to pay for transportation to go back to their respective home for the holidays now that the academic year is complete. This means that some students still remain stuck in their places of residence without food, toiletries, transport money to go back home and other basic necessities. In some cases landlords are running out of patience and want this destitute students out of their residences.
As a fellow student who has been affected by this funding debacle it is indeed a really sad and heartbreaking experience, many students also depend on the allowances in order to provide for themselves and their families.
The funds raised will be distributed to all the students in need to help with transport money to go back home, it will also help with emergency food supplies, procurement of toiletries and other basic necessities.
All the identified students will receive assistance from the funds that are raised as per their needs, verification will be done and needs be identified before distribution of funds may be done to all the affected students .
