Dear Friends,

I will be taking on the Cape Epic Mountain Bike Race 22 to 30 March 2014 with a friend, Pieter du Plessis. Pieter and I have been preparing for 6 months to take on this rather daunting 8-day race covering 718klm with 14’850m of vertical climb. You can follow our team (Spur Braves) on the Cape Epic website and check out the route description at http://www.cape-epic.com/stages.php

We both regard participating in the 2014 Cape Epic as an absolute privilege and hence would like to raise funds for Spur Foundation through our participation and your support.

The Spur Foundation was launched on Mandela Day, 18 July 2012 when the Spur group donated R670,000 to The Spur Foundation Trust. The beneficiaries of the foundation include: FoodBankSA; Reach for a Dream; Teddy Bear Clinic; JAM, Creating Change and Sisanda FunDaytion. The primary goal of The Spur Foundation is to uplift and improve the lives of South Africa's families, with a special emphasis on nourishing and nurturing children.

Your support will be greatly appreciated by the kids of Spur Foundation’s beneficiaries, as well as Pieter and I.
