Personal message

Due to the current surge in COVID-19 infections and the restrictions on sporting events we thought it would be a great idea to get our supporters moving in the water in a safe environment. It is summer (in South Africa) and we need to keep cool while staying active.

This year, just like the past swimming events we attended, we would like to encourage you, swimmers and supporters, to create awareness around childhood cancer.

Rainbows and Smiles will be hosting a virtual swimming event in honour of their National Project Managers' son, Hanno #BraveHeart Lewis, who was diagnosed with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma Stage 4 in 2013. Hanno was a very compassionate little man who loved all living things, great and small. Sadly he died in 2014 after being super brave. #Hannokind

We are honoured to partner with the Paige's Angels of Kindness family during this event. This is to celebrate the life of Paige Desaunois and her gift of happiness and kindness she bestowed on every single person she met. Paige sadly passed away in 2020 after her diagnoses with an aggressive brain tumour. #PaigesAngels #P4P #Pause4Page

Both these pure souls left a huge emptiness in many hearts and we hope to fill that hole with so much love, support, happiness and kindness through this event.

YOU can make a difference in the lives of youngsters still fighting! Because kidz can't fight cancer alone, and children are more precious than gold!! Help us to continue making a difference to these precious children's fight by taking part in our first ever virtual swimming event.
