Personal message

One of Children in the Wilderness’ prime fundraising activities has been the cycle tours, which have proven both popular and life-changing for cyclists, myself and Claudia Schaft are now apart of the privileged few that now have the opportunity to help up lift these children and at the same time enjoy the spender of nature, doing what we love most - riding our bikes!

All monies raised, will directly benefit Children in the Wilderness. In this way, Tour de Wilderness will assist in ensuring the sustainability of the Children in the Wilderness programme through adventure tourism with a purpose!

Children in the Wilderness is a life-skills and environmental educational programme. Through these programmes we teach rural children the importance of conservation and strive to instill a passion for the environment creating custodians of these areas

This programme bridges the divide that exists between communities that live alongside some of Africa’s most wonderful wild places and the wildlife within these reserves by focusing on the next generation of rural decision makers.

Claudia and i will make up a team that will, along with other cyclists, cycle 380kms through the Botswana bush reserves. we can expect to encounter wild animals including the big five.
