Personal message

It's another great opportunity and privilege to ride again for a fundraising event that is so close to my heart. At the same time create awareness about what wonderful work Home of hope is doing for these children. I feel honored to be a part of this family and fundraising event. 

Getting to know Jethro, my little buddy, at the meet and greet was a privilege, he is such a unique little boy. He has a passion for drawing and loves superheroes. He attends Amathemba special needs school as a result of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) which is permanent brain damage as a result of prenatal exposure to alcohol. Making a difference in Jethro’s life brings me great joy, and with your help, we can raise money to give him a better life.

Funds raised for Jetho will go towards his daily care and provide him with specialised education able to address his disabilities due to his FASD. Home of Hope provides specific services for his needs striving to provide him with a brighter future.

Home of Hope

Home of Hope was started in 2005, and we are an NPO that cares for abandoned and abused children and children with Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD – permanent brain damage caused by pre-natal exposure to alcohol). We are a registered place of safety and we have 19 children in our long term community based foster care. 

The organisation also caters for the special educational needs of children suffering from FAS (Foetal Alcohol Syndrome) and neurological challenges, in our Amathemba Learning Centre. There are currently 37 children at our Amathemba Learning Centre.
