During this year's cycle tour, it is a great opportunity and privilege for me to ride for Home of Hope while at the same time creating awareness about the wonderful work they do for children with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder. I feel honoured to be a part of this family and fundraising event again.

This year, I am riding for one of Home of Hope's projects, the Child and Youth Care Centre.

Home of Hope renders specialized services for children who have Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder or other similar developmental abnormalities. In addition to this, many of the children have undergone multiple failed placements before coming to Home of Hope. 

Their child and youth care centre provides a comprehensive service that empowers each child to realize their full potential, no matter where they come from or what they have gone through before. Their mission is to provide a long-term placement that balances between a family unit and a structured environment that allows for supervision and control.

Reaching my target will mean that we have actively made a difference in 25 children's lives who have FASD. 

They provide full-time care to 25 children 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. I have chosen to fundraise for this project because I can only imagine how difficult it must be to care for so many children when so little funding is received from the government.
