The last few years have been a real challenge. Dealing with the loss of my 5-year-old son will forever be the hardest thing I will have to do.  It has changed my view on life, it made me realize how precious and vulnerable it all is.  

Going forward I have two main goals. Telling the world about this little perfect boy that taught me what being a warrior means and taking actions to help preserve some of the beauty that is left in this world.

Recently we also started our Run2Remember community with a small (open to all) group of people that turn to walking & running to deal with great loss. Our group is made up of like-minded people all over the world who go on after losing someone dear, one step at a time. We motivate each other to stay active and commemorate our losses. This group motivates me, even more, to strive for my goals.

Being part of the Tusker Run allows me to set an epic challenge and contribute to the Eden to Addo Corridor Initiative that will try to restore the ancient elephant migration paths.

The challenge is a self-navigating 380 km non-stop ultra run that must be completed under 108 hours.

All sponsoring will go directly to the cause of linking three mega-reserves, namely the Garden Route National Park, The Baviaanskloof Mega Reserve and the Addo Elephant National Park by means of natural corridors to protect and restore the integrity of biodiversity and ecosystem functioning.

I have no idea if I can get any funding, but I would like to try to get R50.000/ €2500. Is that possible?
