So many physically disabled kids are stuck in a chair or bed and unable to get around without help - which is often not forthcoming. We (The Bumblebee Fund) are buying these kids "wheels" and giving them independence and dignity.

A young 9 year old boy in the Blackheath area is next on the list of beneficiaries. He needs a wheelchair ASAP as he is totally immobile and struggling. I am hoping to use this platform to raise the funds we need to buy him his "wheels".

To kickstart this next phase of the fundraising I will be running the 100km Festival of Running on 21 July dressed in my bumblebee outfit. The race is twenty 5km laps around the Sea Point promenade.

If you would like to run with me (any distance you like) at any time on the day the organisers have given you permission to do so. Donations of R50 or more (R50 covers your running insurance and other race fees) will get you a race number. If you are keen then send me an e-mail on [email protected] and I will send you the form to complete - You can pick up your race number at any time between 8am and 6pm at the information desk at the race venue and then join me on a lap as I cross the start line.

All donations, small and large, are very welcome and much needed. You do not need to run to make a donation.

Please lend a hand (and persuade your friends/colleagues/family to do so too).
