Personal message
On June 5, 2021, my life took an irreversible turn when I discovered a lump in my breast. The fear of the worst outcome was accompanied by a glimmer of hope, leading me to consult a series of healthcare professionals, eventually confirming my nightmare: a stage 2 breast cancer diagnosis.
Fortunately, early detection was on my side. Supported unwaveringly by my friends and sons. I embarked on my journey. Enduring months of hospital visits, breast surgery and numerous radiation sessions. I stand today as a proud breast cancer survivor.

Risima Foundation is an NGO founded by Nonhlanhla Sephula after being diagnosed with breast cancer. The ignorance and not going for a mammogram screening has taught me that education and awareness is power that can be given freely.The primary focus is to help the less fortunate in our society with breast cancer awareness and treatment.
