Personal message

Botshabelo is a multifaceted charity based in Midrand, South Africa.  We are passionate about transforming children’s lives through excellent residential care and education.

With the help of friends like you, we reach over 2000 beneficiaries every year!

We reach out through our 3 programmes:

The Babies Home, Urban Kids Educentre and our programme offices are located on the 20 acre property of 64 on Main, Midrand. From this base we serve the community of Olievenhoutbosch and surrounds through our UpliftED Training Programme

Botshabelo is a registered Non-Profit Organisation with separate financial accounting and annual auditing. Botshabelo also has Public Benefit Organisation status which allows individuals and companies to receive a tax rebate for any donations given to Botshabelo.

B-BBEE points for Enterprise Development and Skills Development are also available through Botshabelo.

Over the years Botshabelo’s vision has been refined and put solidly as a stake in the ground – our vision is to impact the lives of children that need it most. Be it through education or residential care, we want to set children up with the best start in life. Right now, our 3 projects are achieving this vision!

Botshabelo was established in the year 2000 as a Non-Profit Organisation (NPO), focusing on children’s foundation education and transforming teaching approach in South Africa through a partnership with low-income communities. The NPO is constituted by a committed and passionate group of diverse team members. Over the last 20 years, we have reached more than 85 500 beneficiaries across rural and peri-urban areas through our various programmes.

There are four catalytic programmes that Botshabelo focuses on:

  1. Babies home (Residential care for orphaned babies).
  2. UpliftED teacher training programmes (Early Childhood Development Training).
  3. Urban Kids Educare Centre ( Foundation education).
  4. Urban Closet (2nd Hand Shop)
