Personal message
Woodside Special Care Centre holds a very special place in Cecil's heart because they take such special care of Samantha, his oldest granddaughter, whom he adored. Cecil made regular donations to the Centre, attended their functions and was often there to pick Samantha up so that he could spend the day with her.
He was in awe of the work that the Centre does, the patience that they show and the difference they make in many people's lives - both for the parents of as well as the children who require special care.
It takes people with a special love and commitment to care for people with special needs and we also want to use this opportunity to thank the dedicated workers who take care of the residents day and night. Their hard work is appreciated and does not go unnoticed by the families and friends of the people they care for.
We know that it would mean so very much to Cecil If donations were made to Woodside Centre in lieu of flowers, in his memory.

Since its inception in 1976 Woodside has worked diligently towards building a home of safety and security for its residents, all of whom require specialized care and who are unable to remain within their family units. Woodside also fosters children who are wards of the court – these are children who have been neglected or abandoned by their families.
The key services we provide are:
24 hour professional nursing care
Physiotherapy
Occupational therapy
Speech and language therapy
Respite care (daily or hourly relief care to families with multi-disabled children)
Our main aim is to provide holistic care and stimulation to our profoundly multi-disabled residents and offer hope and help to discouraged families. We also aim to equip our Centre with the necessary materials and equipment which will enable our staff to operate at a high level of professionalism in all spheres of the services we offer to our residents. Woodside is a place of encouragement, inspiration and constant training for its dedicated staff. With continuous training the staff will be able to provide up-to-date care and stimulation to our residents. The service levels at Woodside are of a very high standard and comprise of a professional administration under the guidance of a general manager, a professional nursing sister and qualified staff nurses, a physiotherapist, an occupational therapist and a fundraising and public relations department.
