Personal message
The reason we as the Reitz Women’s Society decided to support the Rainbows & Smiles Foundation for the TWO OCEANS MARATHON is because of the incredible impact this foundation had on the life of one our members, Loraine Janse van Rensburg. Her daughter, Zuschka, was diagnosed with cancer in 2016 at the age of 11.
As you can imagine the emotional and financial burden on the family was unbearable.
During this difficult time Rainbows & Smiles provided much needed support for not only Zuschka but also the entire family.
We as the Reitz Women’s Society would like to give more patients and their families the same type of assistance whilst they are going through this difficult time. For most of us it will be the first time we run a 56km and running it for the Rainbows & Smiles Foundation makes it an even more rewarding journey.
We are women with purpose striving to make a meaningful difference in society.

The mission of Rainbows and Smiles is to provide emotional, social and financial support to families and caregivers in need when a child or children of that family is diagnosed with a life threatening illness such as cancer. In addition, Rainbows and Smiles encourage childhood cancer awareness to educate in the hope of promoting early detection.
