The Children in the Wilderness program aims to develop environmental leaders who are inspired to care for their heritage so that they become the custodians of these areas in the future. It exposes children to their wildlife heritage, builds and strengthens their capabilities to cope with life's challenges and educates them with the life skills necessary to actualize their greatest potential.

To raise funds for this cause, Children in the Wilderness hosts an annual epic mountain bike tour in Africa.  It will be a four day adventure ride, called Tour de Tuli from August 3-8, 2010 through more than 200 miles of largely untouched trails following various animal migration routes in restricted wilderness areas in South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe.

Children in the Wilderness is managed by people who have a passion for what they do in some very challenging environments and situations.  I am honored to be one of the riders on this journey raising funds for an incredible cause!

Donating through the backabuddy/easygiving website is simple, fast, efficient and secure. Your contribution will directly benefit Children in the Wilderness.  Please note that your donation will be made in South African Rands...a rule of thumb is for every 1 US Dollar, you are donating equates to approx. 8 South African Rands, thus a R800 donation will be app. US$100.
