Personal message
Christmas is around the corner and I’d like to do something heartwarming this year.
I’ve decided to dedicate myself to a home that saves abandoned babies & start my own fundraising project to give donations to babies in need.
We all know babies grow very quickly and have different needs, so if ever you were wondering what to do with 3 tins of formula your baby has tried but refuses, nappies or body care your baby is sensitive to, maybe you went overboard with shopping for clothing , please look no further. I am willing to take these off your hands to put them at great use.
Babies are really precious and every single one of them deserves a chance at a better life and we as a community, we can contribute to that.
Since the Covid-19 pandemic there’s been a spike in child abandonment & in recent stats, out of 83 infants that were found unsafely abandoned, only 34 infants were found alive and the other 49 were found dead.
Although baby boxes aren’t made legal, we need more of those so babies can be given away safely. This home has given people a safe space to put their infants in the baby box anonymously to be in better care & we can help ensure that happens by lending a helping hand.

40 to 50 babies are abandoned on the streets of Joburg every month. The Door of Hope is a safe haven for these children. They have built "a hole in the wall" where mothers can leave their babies, as opposed to leaving them on the streets to perish.
