Another year, another kennel challenge. I am Pooja Supersad, and will be confined to a small kennel/enclosure on the 29th of October 2022 to raise funds for Phoenix Animal Care and Treatment (PACT) Rescue Organization.
Sadly, thousands of dogs out there do not have the option of ending the cycle. These dogs are challenged to be chained or confined to small kennels/enclosures for their entire life. Join me through my kennel journey via live streams and various social media posts, where I will share my experience and highlight the plight of dogs placed in such a situation.
By staying kenneled to raise funds, I hope to create awareness around dogs kept on a chain or in a small enclosure for long periods, if not for their entire lifetime.
At the sight of a cute puppy, most people instinctively say "awww" and wish to have one of their own however they tend to overlook the fact that this cute little puppy is soon to grow into a dog which would require space to live and play in, attention and social interaction and would need suitable food and medical attention. Often, once the novelty of having a new puppy wears off, these cute puppies are shoved in the corner of the yard, chained up or put into a small enclosure and forced to live their entire lives in isolation.
I hope that my participation in the PACT Kennel Challenge 2022 will enlighten people on the plight of these dogs when they are confined to a small space for their entire day or, worse, their entire life.
Reaching my fundraising target would mean that I have been able to actively make a difference to the many dogs who have been victims of cruelty at the hands of our fellow humans. Raised funds will go towards assisting abused and/or abandoned animals taken into PACT's care. These funds will be used to either supply food and blankets, contribute to medical attention costs/vet bills and/or contribute to safe home boarding costs until these animals are adopted.
