Personal message
On behalf of my beautiful sister, Patricia (Ameenah) Thomas, who is only 48 years old, my family and I have endeavored to raise funds independently to assist her. However, we have found this task to be more challenging than anticipated. Therefore, we implore all of you to kindly take a moment to read her story below, and we sincerely hope that you can offer your support. God Bless!
My name is Ameenah, and I find it difficult to recount my story, but it has reached a point where I must. I am currently in severe pain and discomfort. The year 2019 marked the most trying period of my life, as I lost my leg due to a blood clotting issue. With the absence of blood flow, doctors had to amputate my leg above the knee to prevent further damage. Since then, I have struggled with confidence, both in myself and in life.
I humbly reach out to all of you, asking for any form of donation towards a prosthetic leg. This assistance would greatly improve my mobility and quality of life. Walking has become a challenge, and I often feel as though I am holding everyone back. I no longer participate in activities as I once did; running and walking are now sources of pain and discomfort.
It has taken me some time to gather the courage to seek help in this manner. I have always been modestly independent, preferring to offer assistance to others. However, with the encouragement of my family, I am sharing my story in the hopes that it may bring about a positive change in my life.
I humbly request any form or amount of donation towards a prosthetic leg. This would not only boost my confidence and restore my sense of self but also enable me to return to work, an aspect of life I deeply enjoyed due to the independence it provided. Moreover, it would allow me to once again support my family as I used to, and most importantly, alleviate the suffering and pain that have become constant companions.
