I first heard about the Eden to Addo Corridor number of years ago, but with the hike taking 20 days I put the idea of doing it to the back of my mind. I continued to follow the Initiative on Facebook and when Sian from Live Adventure mentioned that they might start a run along that route, to raise funds for the Eden to Addo Corridor I became extremely excited by the idea.

The outdoor and natural spaces in the Eastern Cape are very special to me. The mountains and trails in this area are my happy place.  I spend a lot of time in both the Addo and Eden areas and to be able to have a small part in linking these two magnificent areas with a Wildlife Corridor is an opportunity that I cannot pass up. The challenge of taking part, and running 230 miles also excites me. I love the idea of seeing how far I can go.

I started running in 2004, with the goal of running a 10km race. Since then the distances have crept up and I have really enjoyed the challenge of the ultra-distances. I am so grateful to be able to take part in this and to Challenge myself, going further than I have ever gone before.

I, however, can’t do this alone and need your help to raise funds for the Corridor. The vision of the Eden to Addo Corridor Initiative is to link three mega-reserves, the Garden Route National Park, The Baviaanskloof World Heritage Site and the Addo Elephant National Park to help protect and restore the integrity of biodiversity and eco-system functioning.
