On 29 May 2023, a devastating incident occurred that set back our rescue efforts. One of our JetRIB vessels, worth approximately R650,000, was stolen, stripped for parts, and set ablaze. The NSRI's JetRIB is not just an ordinary rescue craft – it's a game changer in surf rescues.
