Personal message

My name  is Nigel “Koos“ Cones… I think I am the “ oldie “of the group !! I have been swimming for most of my life whether it be pool swimming, open water, water polo or Surf Lifesaving… I have been extremely fortunate to have competed if many places around the world in each of these mentioned sporting disciplines.

As this is an open water event I would rank the Straits of Gibraltar as my greatest achievement (see pic attached)… mind you the cold water, in doing the Robben Island crossing , was indeed an immense challenge! I have always been looking for another such swim and the Bazarouter swim challenge has really tickled my fancy… warm water and an abundance of sea life should make this a more comfortable spectacle but the distance of 35 km is indeed faaaaaaaaacken far... but be what it may that is why it is a challenge something which we do need to test ourselves from time to time. As it happens, it is the first time that this swim has been attempted!

As this is also a fund raiser I would appeal to you guys give something and really I mean anything no matter how small to anyone of the charities mentioned in this appeal .
