Update: 25/05/2023:

It's getting real folks! The Oceans 8 charity swim is finally going ahead in middle June 2023. We've had a few false starts (floods in Durban, sea pollution, beach closures etc) but we're back in the water, training hard to crack our 8 mile swim, entirely for charity! 

I still need some help to reach my new target of R 10 000 for WILDTRUST, my chosen worthy cause. Thanks to everyone who has already donated and shown their support for protecting our ocean, and its wildlife. We appreciate you :) 

No matter how rough the sea of life can feel at times, refuse to sink and just keep swimming...

Update 17/05/2022:

In June 2022, I'll be swimming South Africa's first Oceans 8 Charity Swim to help raise funds and awareness for my chosen charity, WILDTRUST.

I have two big goals to achieve:

  • Raise R 5000 by 16th June
  • Complete a whopping 8 mile (just under 13km) openwater swim over two days….eeeeeeeeek!

With your support & donations, I'm sure I can crack it. All I need is a minimum of R50 from 100 people, so please consider donating your next cappuccino and croissant to this worthy cause. Of course you are welcome to donate more to help me reach my goal...

The funds raised will be channelled specifically towards their WILDOCEANS programme, which includes several awesome projects focused on marine conservation, healthy oceans, youth empowerment projects, protecting endangered species, building resilience to risks like pollution & climate change...and so much more! They currently have some great campaigns on the go, check these out to see where your donations are going Ocean Impact & Shark Attack

WILDTRUST (registered as the Wildlands Conservation Trust – IT No.4329/1991/PMB) is a South African Non-Profit, Non-Government and Public Welfare Organisation, established in 2004 through the merger of two regional Trusts.
