The Cat House

Charity Default Logo

The Cat House in Dominionville, a rural old mining town in the North West Province of South Africa, is in dire need of any support it can get. The shelter is home to over 130 cats, which are either dumped, abandoned, or brought to The Cat House because they are not cute anymore, is run by Lynette Van Bosch (The Cat House Mom), a selfless lady who has given up everything she has ever known to care for these cats in need. Lynette moved to Dominionville a few years ago to care for her ailing parents, but what started as a simple act of kindness has turned into a labor of love. She works tirelessly to make sure each and every cat is fed, cared for, and given the chance at a better life.

The Cat House is the only shelter for miles around and the nearest town and vet are over 30 km’s away. Lynette takes care of these cats no matter the circumstance, but unfortunately the costs of feeding and caring for these cats adds up to R4400 a week, and the shelter needs a monthly income of R20 000 just to keep the cats fed, not to mention the monthly mortgage and utility bills, vet and medicine bills that also need to be paid.

The Cat House is a non-profit organization that receives no funding, and they need your help to make the shelter a safe and secure place for all the cats. The dream is to make The Cat House a no-kill shelter and safe haven for the cats.
