My name is Michelle, and I am a mommy to two amazing little human beings and a wife to a wonderful, loving husband.

For many years I have struggled with a declining state of health, despite following a relatively healthy and active lifestyle. I have had numerous tests done over the years to try and find the cause of the many debilitating symptoms that I suffer with on a daily basis. 
 
In November last year, I made yet another appointment with a family doctor who I hadn't seen since I was in my teens, in a last-ditch effort to seek a diagnosis for the chronic joint pain, rapid weight gain, extreme hair loss, frequent migraines, brain fog, severe fatigue and iron deficiency anaemia to name just a few. When I started mentioning these symptoms, he immediately recognised all of the features characterising Cushing's Disease. He urged me to see an endocrinologist specialist as soon as possible, and I was hopeful of finally finding a diagnosis.
 
There are no Endocrinologists in my town and the nearest one is an hour and a half away. The appointments are booked months in advance and the waiting period is very long. My first consultation is booked for the 26th of March and I am counting the days until I can finally begin this health journey.
 
I am hoping to find some financial assistance to aid the highly expensive consultation fees (there will be many) and for the traveling back and forth for blood tests, hormone tests, brain MRI's and CT scans to hopefully find the diagnosis that will lead me to receive the proper treatment and surgery to cure this debilitating disease. 
 
Being able to receive this diagnosis means the absolute world to me as it means that I'll one day be able to jump on a trampoline or go on bicycle rides with my children and not have to put on a brave face through the pain. I want nothing more than to be a healthy, happy mommy and wife.
 
Every contribution, no matter how small, will make such a huge impact on this health journey for me and my family.

My name is Michelle, a mom to two wonderful kids and a wife to a loving husband.

Despite leading a healthy lifestyle, I've struggled with declining health for years, experiencing symptoms like chronic joint pain, weight gain, hair loss, migraines, fatigue, and anemia.
